valerie ramirez

4TH Grade, st. helen elementary school
Valerie was surprised but, excited to be named a Dragons MVP! Her teacher described Valerie as an exemplary fourth grader.
“She strives to be a leader in the classroom and completely invests in our school motto - living virtue and building character. Valerie looks to lend a helping hand to teachers, fellow students, and school volunteers without seeking recognition. She keeps our classroom and school tidy, safe, and an enjoyable place to learn. Valerie cares about her education and has demonstrated much maturity and dedication during this less-than-normal school year. St. Helen has used a “hybrid” model in which some students engage in remote learning at the same time as others are learning face-to-face. Being a remote learner certainly had challenges; however, Valerie’s excellent work ethic and diligence should be recognized. She has done a superb job participating, asking clarifying questions, staying on task, and submitting work on time. I am so proud of Valerie and know her outstanding citizenship inspires others to strive for excellence in character.”
The Dayton Dragons MVP Program is made possible by the generous support of Ohio’s 529 Plan, Sinclair College, Raising Canes, WDTN-TV, Dayton’s CW, and Day Air Credit Union.
The Dragons MVP Program uses the marketing power of Dayton Dragons Baseball as an educational tool for 4th and 5th grade teachers, helping them incent and reward students for success both in and out of the classroom. The use and distribution of the awards is entirely up to each teacher. Teachers use the program to reward behavior improvements, community involvement, good grades, spelling bee winners, and more.
